Kingsbury County is thrilled to introduce TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service! This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications and easily find specific information by texting Kingsbury County.
Kingsbury county will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on October 20, 2025. Residents may receive a text message from 80946 from the county initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword “KINGSBURY” to the number 80946. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. Residents may receive notifications for emergent events, weather, treasurer due dates, etc.
You will also receive a contact card for Kingsbury County’s two-way texting number. Save this to your phone and text it to find information and report issues. Even though this card is sent from the number 80946, the number you are saving is 605-854-8811.
Kingsbury County’s use of this technology is another example of how our community enhances resident services by implementing 21st-century solutions. We’re excited about this new way of communicating with residents and look forward to sharing important county notifications. Citizens can use TextMyGov to report road signs that appear to be damaged tilted or needing repair. This will allow us to acknowledge the issue and promptly get it fixed.

TextMyGov will allow first responders to notify motorists if a road has been closed due to an emergency allowing them to find an alternate route.

Gas leaks can happen everyday. TextMyGov allows Kingsbury County to notify citizens if they may be affected by a gas leak, or if they are needing to evacuate. This can safe important time when time may be in short supply
